Overview:
The Blight is a druid lich who melds their soul with the land to protect it at all costs, creating a phylactery known as a Death Bloom at the heart of their territory.
Common Traits:
Blights have a symbiotic relationship with their environment, manifesting bodies from natural elements and defending their Memorial with dark, powerful magic.
Transformation:
A druid becomes a Blight through a lengthy ritual, binding their soul and body to the land they protect. This process requires extreme control over nature, typically performed by Archdruids.
Abilities:
Blights can manifest bodies anywhere in their Memorial, control natural elements, and use powerful necromantic and druidic spells. Their power increases the closer they are to the Death Bloom.
Phylactery:
The Death Bloom is the Blight's phylactery, a place at the heart of their territory. As long as the Death Bloom exists, the Blight can reform their body.
Tactics:
In combat, Blights use their environment to their advantage, employing plant growth, poisonous spores, and elemental magic to repel invaders. They can also summon beasts and plant creatures to aid them.
Goals:
Blights aim to protect and expand their Memorial, ensuring its survival by consuming and incorporating surrounding land. Their methods, however, often lead to the destruction of other ecosystems.
