Mer

The gilled humanoid species of Mern, these humanoids survive best in water and are extremely territorial. Other humanoids can only enter and explore their cities with escorts, and trade ships must sail far around their cities or pai on escort to cross over the city. Mertown is their main city located in Mern, but they have spread to other bodies of water on Ropla. The blue tint of their skin and small fins makes them difficult to see from above water, but very agile within it. On land however, they are notoriously clumsy, and even their speaking is difficult for them. They are dependent on water and can't make a living in areas without water access, though they might be seen passing through with loaded Aquamules carrying their luggage. These creatures also serve to keep travelling Mers hydrated, as they can contain up to a ton of water within their huge bellies.
