No civilization persists forever. No might, no power, no gods can hoist a banner in perpetuity against the ceaseless march of time and circumstance. Not the Magi, not Crucible, and no, little kit, not even our own Den can withstand Change. This land, our Ros Cala, was once the playground of Magi, those witches and wizards whose Gift granted unlimited and unrivaled dominance over the world. Some legends call them gods for compared to us with no command over the mystic arts how could they be anything else regardless of divinity? No revolt could break their yoke, aye, there could be no victory against such titans. And so their empire reigned, and used the world as their magical laboratory. The histories are insufficient to say how long, but it can be inferred that the Magi ruled unmatched from the beginning of history itself. And not even they could last. For here you are, young kit, reading this publication without fear of wrath, or firestorm, or masters. Here you are; learning to hunt Magi. Here you are; learning to destroy their abominable creations, Here you are; learning to serve your fellow. Here you are beyond the borders of the Four Nations born from the ashes of Change. And where will you be in the years to come? Will you dedicate yourself to slaying monsters? Will you hunt for truth? Will you journey beyond our waters and rediscover the world so violently forgotten? Wherever your career as a Fox takes you, know that you are an agent of Change.
