Cergoli Monster

Tales tell of a relic monster 30 feet long inhabiting Cergoli Lake. Truth or lie, some folks are afraid to fish in the lake. Cergoli Lake is the largest lake on Rotiermont, and supplies much of the western Empire with food. But fisherman have always preferred to stay in shallow water for reasons they'd rather not talk about. Anyone who loses sight of shore is said to never be seen again. Long-time residents of the coastal towns around the lake are more than happy to talk about the beast, if it means the Empire will do something about it. The beast is said to be 30 feet in length, the color of mud, and swims through the water with a speed that unsettles even the bravest of sailors. Its long whiskers probably help it feel its way about in the murky lake. Men believe it to live on the bottom in the deepest parts of the lake, where the biggest fish live. Unfortunately, this forces the fisherman to settle for a smaller catch, as they know the beast will be near the large fish. Many fisherman have a healthy respect for the monster, and believe if they leave it the big fish, it will leave them alone. Others despise the beast, for they remember what it did to their family members.
