Rouge Sable

Sand spreads across the horizons, further even. Featureless dunes undulate along the wind and shape an ever-shifting landscape. Giving stability to the picture, solitary yardangs resist the violent assault of the gale. Perched atop these rocky pits, the remnants of a shredded civilisation hide from the dreadful beasts swimming in the mineral sea below.

It was not always this way. Once, the world was lush with colors and life. Plants rich with water, harmless animals and cities as high as the clouds. Now, only the faint remembrance of this glory remains, along with crumbling ruins. History forgot the catastrophic chain of events that led to sand's rise, and survival is the only concern of people.

Someone might have the answer to this mystery, as well as a way out. A gaunt silhouette wandering through the perillous desert, leaving sand tainted in red in its wake.
