The Artful Jewel
Oragina is a pastiche city, a center of arts and commerce built upon crystal foundations imported from Niook several thousand years ago. This city, the Artful Jewel, arose during the fourth era as a mining settlement poised upon seemingly infinite veins of silver. As that era drew to a close, so did its abundance of silver. This was of little consequence for the city as a whole, as it had slowly and firmly established itself as a cultural hub.
Underground Culture
Even as the mines dried up, they were renovated and reinvented as the Underground. Bright electric lights in bold and stunning colors illuminate the twisting streets and stone-carved buildings of this multi-level urban subterraria. Inspired by and styled after the subterranean strata of Niook, the Underground is a wide-awake creatrix of cultural innovation. Quirky artistry imbues the architecture. Hundreds of art studios and galleries are nestled in its meandering, womb-like spaces. At any hour, music is being crafted and sound is being sculpted; Oragina is the birthplace of electronic music.
