01-14: Uprising

General Summary

Responding to Aibretta's urgent message that the Azlanti intended to execute Jellik, the Coelacanth Crew raced back to Madelon's Landing. Cidehamad remained behind with one of the hovertrikes to guard Quorsica and the ship. Upon reaching the colony, Aibretta took them to where a crowd had gathered. Two senior Azlanti cadets had strung up Jellik on a lamp post by a pair of manacles. As the team approached, one cadet sneered and slashed open Jellik's abdomen with a survival knife.
Ryn and Arsene rushed to aid Jellik as Krist, Fitz, and Torok dealt with the senior Azlanti cadets. Fitz tossed a smoke grenade hoping to debilitate the cadets. With the smoke cloud providing cover, Ryn was able to stabilize Jellik, and Arsene freed him from his manacles. The cadets managed to escape the smoke cloud unimpaired and proceeded to use their taclashes to wicked effect, disarming both Krist and Fitz. Fortunately the ysoki had a spare blaster in a cheek pouch, but Krist was left with just his survival knife. As one cadet continued to work over Krist, the lashunta captain was able to rally the crowd before being rendered unconscious. The other cadet had significantly more trouble hitting Fitz. Torok had little luck with his sniper rifle, but upon running out of ammo and switching to an imperial pacification rifle, he was much more effective.
With Jellik out of immediate danger, Ryn and Arsene came to the aid of their teammates. Ryn hammered one cadet with shooting stars, and Arsene tripped up the other with a grease spell. As the tide of battle turned against them, one cadet attempted to flee, but was struck down and beaten to death by the crowd. Torok put down the second senior cadet.
The suppressed fury of the colonist had now been fully inflamed. The moment for the assault on the garrison and freeing of Madelon's Landing was at hand!
