Dimeritium

Dimeritium is a rare metal which can be found sparsely throughout Runetalras, it has unique properties which can suppress magic. Dimeritium is oft seen as a counterpart or opposite to Weaveite.   Dimeritium in its refined form appears much like iron with a faint blue-green tint, with its ore possessing a similar tint.   Dimeritium is as strong as iron once refined, however, it is rarely used for the metal's strength. Instead dimeritium is used primarily for its ability to suppress magic, with shackles and other forms of bindings being common particularly within Arcane Bastilles. Weapons made of dimeritium are also used as they are more easily able to disrupt spellcasting.   Dimeritium is used to awaken magical powers within individuals, however, these powers are niche as they relate to spells which hamper the ability of people to cast spells. For dimeritium to awaken these kinds of magic in a person the dimeritium must be ingested, this is a dangerous and addictive process, but one that is attractive to some.   Dimeritium was first discovered in the Age of Conquest by the Twelve Converts, who were the first peoples to discover the Radiant Lady. The Twelve Converts found amidst a forest clearing a great and vast stone temple, seemingly ancient, within the Eternal Lady revealed herself to the Twelve Converts and bestowed to them the Eternal Flame, which burned since life had found Runetalras, which held the Unburning Tome. Within the Tome great secrets were revealed, a source of dimeritium close to the Temple, how to use dimeritium to combat the evils of magic, and how to train and condition warriors to best fight against mages.
