Dissenters of Ascendancy

The Dissenters of Ascendancy, also known as the Dissenters, are a rebel faction which opposes the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy, for is racial discrimination and imperialistic nature.

History

There have been many rebellions against the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy and its predecessor the Holy Draconic Empire, however, prior to the Dissenters none that focused upon the culture of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy lasted long before being put down.
The Dissenters were formed in 528:Contempt and found support primarily amongst prismatic , scarred, and gem Dragonborn who are discriminated against within the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy; they also received support from tieflings and the few other draconic races, lizardmen, half dragons, and kobolds, that make their home within the Kingdom and oppose its worse tendencies. The Dissenters operated as an underground opposition group, however most of the Dissenters were radicalised and militarised by purge undertaken by the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy Military.
After the purge most members of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy fled into the Wild Isles to form a military resistance group, while some remained in the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy to gather intelligence and agitate. Since their retreat to the Wild Isles their size has greatly increased, with other draconic races, lizardmen, half dragons, and kobolds, bulking out their forces.

Purpose

Stop Expansion The Dissenters oppose the military expansion of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy beyond its borders. While the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy state their expansion is to bring civilisation to the Wild Isles, the Dissenters claim that it only brings death, destruction, and the oppression of others to enrich the powerful. The Dissenters use military force to oppose this expansion working with natives of the Wild Isles, although many do not trust the Dissenters as a result of racial animosity.
Coexistence The Dissenters hope to further the idea that the draconic races, and the races of the Wild Isles can live with one another rather than being in persistent struggle. This task has become incalculably difficult with the history of opposition and conflict between the Draconic Isles and the Wild Isles.
Reform the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy The Dissenters aim to overthrow the current system with the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy, and replace it with a more equitable and fair system, where races are not discriminated against. The Dissenters are willing to use all manner of force and violence to achieve what they see as a greater good.

Nature

The Dissenters are a violent group as a result of the times and the purges against them, but they do aspire to a greater good, a more accepting and peaceful world.

Members

The Dissenters are made up of a wide range of individuals of all backgrounds, united by the common ideals of unity and putting an end to the abuses of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy, and the will to fight against it.

Where the Faction Operates

The Dissenters are most present within the Wild Isles fighting against the expansion of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy, they also have a significant number of agents within the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy. The Dissenters do have sparse numbers of agents in the wider world agitating the interests of the Infernal-Draconic Ascendancy.
