Eldath (El-Dar-th)

Eldath is a deity of nature and the natural order, and the faithful believe that nature itself is the manifestation of the divine.

Where the Cult Thrives

The Cult of Eldath is present within the Free States, but even then Eldath is only truly popular within the Elnurian Forest and the surrounding areas.

Tenets of the Faith

Followers of Eldath believe that nature itself is the manifestation of the divine, and that preserving the beauty and majesty of nature is a moral and religious duty. They also believe that the waters are the lifeblood of the world and polluting and abusing them are heinous acts. They take different approaches to those who harm nature, including education, non-violent resistance, and violent resistance. They also believe that death is a natural part of life.

Temples

Temples to Eldath are simple and preserve the natural environment. They are typically found in places like Hunter’s Wrath and the Elnurian Forest, but can also be found in simple ponds or glades where the faithful can pray in peace. A body of water such as a pond or a spring typically serves as a repository of offerings, and offerings are typically broken weapons or items that are remembrances of arguments.

Priests

Priests of Eldath are typically queer folk who are more akin to druids in their beliefs and demeanor. They embrace decentralization and reject organization and hierarchical structures. They generally preside over peaceful negotiations and certify treaties.

Depictions of the Deity

Eldath is not oft depicted as a humanoid, instead more often being depicted as waterfall, rarely, however, Eldath is depicted as a naked female figure.

Factions

The Guardians of Groves are a decentralised organisation which rejects hierarchical structures. They are instead united by the common desire to care for the natural world, combat threats to it, and their worship to the deity Eldath .
