Elder Evils

The Far Realms are planes of madness and horrors where the fundamentals of reality break down. The endless madness of the Far Realms has been known to twist the forms and minds of creatures unfortunate enough to visit the planes. The Far Realms are also thought to be the birthplace of the foulest aberrations, including, aboleths, beholders, illithid, and slaads; it is also said that they are home of Elder Evils eldritch horrors who are said to be older than existence and as powerful as deities.   The Elder Evils are thought to be older than very existence itself and as powerful as deities. These eldritch entities have been known to empower those that worship them or perform strange acts of devotion. Even the names of these Elder Evils carry power, with the act of speaking their name, writing it, or erecting a statue affects creatures and the environment around the acts. Servants to these Elder Evils become warped and twisted, with some becoming serpentine, others likened to fish, and others gaining tentacles or other weird apendices.

Forms

The Elder Evils are not believed to be a specific race of creatures, instead they are made up of vastly different entities who share a level of power that rivals Demon Lords, Archdevil, Archfey, and deities. Another commonality is their maddening forms and realms, with it being said that to gaze upon an Elder Evil can bring about desiring madness in moral minds. The Elder Evil are so vastly different from one that they include living stars that spring forth Far Realm corruption and madness, the Night Serpent Devourer of Dreams, and entities that the aboleth pay worship to like He Who Watches from Beyond the Stars, The Blood Queen, and the Hunger Below.

Known Elder Evils

Due to their maddening nature, the violence of their worshippers the Elder Evils, and power that even their names possess, few of the Elder Evils have been documented, although those that have are:   Dendar, the Night Serpent, Devourer of Dreams, a titanic serpent said to feast on the dreams of mortals and deities alike.   He Who Watches from Beyond the Stars, said to be the darkness between the stars, more a primal force than a physical entity.   The Hunger Below, driven by unending hunger and everything before, The Hunger Below is said to consume stars and planets from the inside out.   The Blood Queen, believed to travel across the currents of probability through infinite realities, spreading her spawn throughout all existence. .   The Corpse Star, is believed to be an enormous black void like star which moves through the blackness drawing in all in its path, and spewing out star spawn in its wake.
