Church of the Glorious Evolution

While many of Piltover's impoverished choose to live in Piltover's polished but uptight shadow, the undercity within the Fissures is seen by some to be the home of true genius. The Church of the Glorious Evolution views flesh as inferior to that of steel and metal. They have gathered followers among the people of Zaun and even among other nations nearby. For as long as they exist, the day where the world is replaced by beings of weaponized steel and metal becomes clearer with each passing day.

Mythology & Lore

The Gray Lady. The Gray Lady is the patron saint of this religion. Her stained glass window is the main focal point of the First Assemblage of the Glorious Evolved; her cloak is a mosaic of ash-violet glass, oxidized cogs, and blackened pistons. Her epithet is often invoked when an inventor feels at a loss. Hers is a blessing that often requires sacrifice. The Glorious Evolved celebrates the old Zaunite tradition of sacrificing something personal for Progress Day in the hopes the next iteration of invention will be better. This practice can be traced back to the troubled years after the opening of the Sun Gates, when the people of Zaun had to rebuild their lives and their city. On the Church, those sacrifices usually are organic parts of the body, which are then replaced by technological augments.
The Evolution of Viktor. An artificer of Zaun has been making waves in the Church of the Glorious Evolution. His breakthroughs in the integration of technology and flesh draw the attention of the church's leaders. The faithful have gathered fragments of Viktor's philosophy and see him as a messianic figure, but Viktor couldn't care less for them, viewing their quasi-religious cult as an aberration; another reason to eliminate emotional foibles and the belief in that which could not be empirically proven.
