Pledge

During a short or long rest, you can designate an allied creature as being Worthy, forming an immaterial tether between you and them. This takes 10 minutes and you must remain within 30 feet of the creature during the duration of this time. Additionally, only one creature can be designated as Worthy at a time. If you try to designate a second creature as Worthy, the tether with the previous creature is severed.  

Sacrifice

If the Worthy creature takes damage, you can use your reaction to halve the damage they take and transfer it to you instead, provided they are within 60 feet of you.   Additionally, you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage you sustained, up to your character level, until the end of your next turn. The first time you hit a creature with a melee attack on your next turn, the target takes additional damage equal to any remaining temporary hit points that you gained from this feature, which then disappear.
