Inheritance Act

Purpose

The Act was created to change the inheritance laws in Rusfaeris and allow women to take important positions.

Clauses

Section 1 deals with the inheritance of the throne 
Section 2 deals with the sucession for the leader of the Shadow Army 
Section 3 deals with the inheritance of other hereditary titles. 
Section 4 deals with general inheritances outside of the nobility. 
Section 5 deals with inheritances related to the Faeris.

Caveats

A first born son is still prefered but now any child can be chosen to inherit, not just the sons.

Publication Status

Copies of the Act were read out in every town and village in Rusfaeris and the formally signed original is stored in the legal vaults in the chapel of the Royal Palace as a matter of legal and historical records.

Legal status

This is a new law drafted by the regants of Rusfaeris and signed by the young Tsar Mikhail.

Background

The daughter of Alexei Senior , Valentina, wanted to be able to lead the Shadow Army but the previous laws menat that as a woman she was not able to take this position

Legacy

This document finally allowed the women of Rusfaeris to have equality under inheritance.

Term

The precedent set by this Act was in effect for centuries even after the original Act had to be replaced with the changing times.
