Bearskin was a soldier, who knew he was going to lose his soul, so he made a deal with the devil. He traded two other souls to go to the afterlife in his place. He was forced to wear a bearskin for fifteen years. He was to never wash, never cut his hair, never shave, never change his clothes and never blow his nose. In return, Bearskin received a mountain of gold, a beautiful bride and a mountain of gold.
