Cold Iron (Kholodnoye Zhelezo)

This iron, mined deep underground, is known for its effectiveness against Cherti and fey creatures, including many of the Spirits of the Old Beliefs. It was brought to the surface of the Sabrelands by the Sabre Drow. The techniques of its forging were stolen by the Snow Dwarves, during the Saberchert Crusade. It is forged at a lower temperature to preserve its delicate properties.

Alchemical Reagent

Price 1 gp; Weight
As well as a forging material, Cold Iron can be used as an alchemical reagent to produce alloyed metals, catalysts and items that interfere with magic. It can be used as an alchemical power compent (i.e. as an additional material spell component) to augment the effects of abjuration spells. Using a Cold Iron reagent in this way requires 5 doses, and the effects do not stack with other reagents or itself. The reagent is expended after use.
