A Rogatina, or Bear Spear is a spear used in the hunting of bears and other large mammals. It has a sharpened head in the form of a bay leaf, and a short crosspiece to help fix the spear in the body of the animal while keeping it at a safe distance from the hunter. The Rogatina is particularly nasty because, when the bear is pieced by it, it instinctively rears back on its hind legs, which actually drives the spear in further. Although the spear is particularly deadly against bears, it can also have devistating effects in regular combat. Brace: If you use a readied action to set a brace weapon against a charge, you deal double damage on a successful hit against a charging creature. Additionally, if you ready a bear spear against a charge and your attack hits, you get a +2 shield bonus to your AC against that creature until your next turn.
