Mrinjas

Mrinjas are an extremely rare species of flower found in cold climates such as Whitesmith. Their petals are sought after by many types of mages, due to their extremely high Magic Flow. The petals of a mrinja are partially transparent, with a texture similar to frosted glass, and are usually white or light blue but can vary in color. Mrinjas are often called Crystal Roses, due to the fact that they grow similar in shape to a rose.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Mrinjas reproduce through seeds that detach themselves and blow in the wind after pollination. These seeds, once they have landed, will vibrate slightly, allowing them to burrow through the snow and reach the ground below. While they produce hundreds of seeds each, only a few of these seeds manage to make their way through the snow without assistance, with the rest eventually becoming inert.

Growth Rate & Stages

A mrinja takes 3 years to grow from a seed to a fully grown flower.

Ecology and Habitats

Mrinjas can only grow in locations where the temperature does not allow the snow to melt, though once grown they can be transplanted to warmer climates.

Biological Cycle

Mrinjas are unaffected by seasonal changes, unless those seasonal changes cause the snow to melt, at which point if the mrinja is not fully grown it will wilt and die. Removing even a single petal before full growth will also cause the flower and the petals to immediately die.
Lifespan
A mrinja can live up to 500 years, but will only produce seeds for three years after reaching maturity.
Average Height
Less than 1 foot on average.
