Yang Xiao Long
Yang Xiao Long is a student at Beacon Academy and a member of team RWBY.
Biography
Yang Xiao Long was born on June 1st, 65 AGW to Taiyang Xiao Long and Raven Branwen on the island of Patch in the Kingdom of Vale. Raven would abandon her husband and newborn child to rejoin her clan, and their former teammate Summer Rose would temporarily move in to help raise the baby and comfort her friend. This 'temporary' move would become permanent as Tai fell in love with Summer, eventually conceiving another child, Ruby Rose with her. Yang would become extremely close to her adoptive mother, who was the only mother she could remember and who Yang regarded as a 'super mom'. Summer would often read Yang and Ruby bed time stories and regale them with exploits of life as a Huntress, which would later inspire both of them to follow in her footsteps. When Yang was 5, Summer Rose mysteriously vanished after a mission, classified as missing and presumed dead. Taiyang would be sent into a crippling depression after losing the second love of his life and spent several years in a mostly non-functioning state, leaving Yang as Ruby's primary caretaker. At this time Yang also learned of her birth mother, and in a misguided attempt to track her down she left home with her sister in tow. Yang and Ruby were surrounded by Beowolves and were narrowly saved by the timely intervention of their Uncle, Qrow Branwen. Ruby would barely remember the incident, but Yang would spend much of her life wracked with guilt, and from then on would keep her search for her birth mother a secret from her younger sister.Appearance
