The Monkey King - Echo Spirit

Born from belief almost as old as the island, that of all the monkeys, there must be a king, and so there was, the most powerful amongst them, so much so he became famed as a warrior spirit, protecting his siblings and also the peoples and cultures which offered respect and hospitality to his kind.

The Monkey King is ancient, and unlike many of the Echo Spirits , he is not bound to Atal'Gazor . Across the seas, he has worshipers and believers in Hokoshun and Yaogan.

In the 1st Age of Ryveria, he is already several thousand years old, but has grown lazy, his old fights against fiends and overreaching celestials became few and far between as the world forgot about him and his people.

In the 2nd age, many of his temples are underwater and so the Monkey King becomes a wanderer, finally resting on the timeless isle.

In the 3rd Age, he avoided death by having himself turned into a statue before the Aftermath.
