Victoria

Victoria is the celebration of the gods' victory over the invading Gith army. What defined this triumph above others is 1) all gods had had their gifts from Alnii stripped away, so it was up to only their natural abilities, 2) this was one of the first and few times all five gods worked together towards one outcome, and 3) the aftermath of this event led to the marriage of Alnii and Vetris, and Alnii's decision to create the Maiden Harmony.

Traditions

In many parts of Saani, families buy what is known as a "Victoria Tree." It is generally the same type of jungle tree that surrounds the Palace of the Gods in Gossilee, but poorer or less conservative places may use trees native to their area. The jungle tree is preferable because while the trees are not fireproof, the seeds are (allegedly because of this very event). Families create metal (or otherwise fireproof) ornaments representing each member. Very close friends or neighbors may sometimes also be included. They also create wooden ornaments of hardships, enemies, or rivals and hang those on the tree, as well. On Victoria, the tree is burned, and the wooden ornaments along with it- however, the metal family ornaments are left intact.
The most dedicated families will save the seeds from the tree and grow it into next years' tree, making the tree itself an heirloom of sorts. Others will simply roast and eat the seeds.
