Aros

No other kingdom on Sacaris is as sure of its destiny as Aros. The Elves of the city were the first to walk this land as a single nation, the first to tame the wilderness and first to harness magic. From its island home in the sky the city of pearl and silver has looked over Sacaris and guided history along the proper path since before the Dark War.   There are of course those who have a different view to the High elfs of Aros's role in history. It’s said that in early historysome races were forced out, pushed aside or even killed in order for the elves to secure their vison for the world. While the Elves say they gently cultivated the history of Sacris the other kingdoms have accused them of being arrogant manipulators who are terrified of any loss of control.   The citizens of Aros ignore the displeasure their dissenters. The High Elves see them as ungrateful for the sacrifices they have made. The other races are viewed the same way a parent looks upon thankless miserable children. Burdens. Burdens that need to be managed lest they bring disaster upon themselves and others. To the lords of Aros, the opinion of those that cannot care for themselves is not worth considering.

Government

Aros is ruled by the Sorolwyn bloodline and has been since the days of tribal gatherings. Sorolwyn kings have always had strong connections with the gods and with nature and have always been seen as wise, pragmatic and just rulers.   While there have been scattered incidents in the past of unfit Sorolwyn’s they have quickly been replaced by the next in line either by force or through politics. Aures Sorolwyn is one such king who was consumed by a tragic insanity that drove him into bloody bouts of paranoia.   The current king is Erondil, Third of his Name. He has ruled for the last four hundred years, replacing his father Erondil the Second after he was struck ill and perished to sickness. He is a strong leader who has mastered the politics of the many great houses of Aros while shunning the indignity of the other races. Erondil is criticized for his disregard toward the governments of other races- especially those that dwell on the surface.

Defences

Like all sky cities Aros is afforded an amount of defense by virture of its aerial nature. However the city is also defended by the many spell benders found in the city as well as the platinum guard who operate Aros's fleet of enchanted sky ships. There is also rumour that the city is equipped with a magical barrier capable of shielding the city from attack.

Industry & Trade

Since discovering magic the Elven peoples have used the advanatge of this knowldege to maintain their place in the world and this true now perhaps more than any other time in history for the peoples of Aros. While there have been some dabblings in some of the kinds of magitech found on the other skycities, the primary industry found on Aros revolves around more traditional magical techniques which have subesquently been enhanced the new elements of Elerium and Aetherium.   There is a small amount of trade done with the other skycities and occasionaly magically enchanted items will be presented to government officials by way of gifts, but in general Aros dosnt trade with any outside territory in any meaningful quantitiy, which has led meny to theorise how they manage to maintain the city without supply. While the Assemblage has never given details on this subject, there is a growing rumour that the spellbenders of Aros are using ainchient magical rituals to form portals to other planes from which they draw the resource nessesary to support the city.
