Avirun

Avirun (also known as the city of games) is a peaceful city. It was one of the few cities which remained neutral during the Dark War, and to this day has been ruled on the principle of “live and let live”. Wealth is often seen as the most important thing in the city, with the poor being seen as morally bankrupt and the rich as prestigious citizens. A beacon to rich nobility, gamblers and con men attracted by the various entertainment both dubious or otherwise and the many freedoms that the city offers, on the surface Avirun is a gleaming image of extravagance and pleasure. Or at least that us the case if you have coin, as the very freedom that allows the entertainment of Avriun to flourish also supports a deep routed network of various illegitimate industries that preys on any it can pull into is net.

Government

The city is ruled by the richest man or woman in the city, called the “Merchant Prince/Princess”, with a new leader chosen every year unless that person is still the wealthiest.

Defences

Avirun uses mostly mercenaries and rich merchants private military forces. There was a small main army that is funded by donations by more charitable rich lords, but it was mostly there to protect their interests.
