History
Formerly known as Ydna, Ametar was built by Rumarians during the time of the Rumari empires's glory days. Ametar was to be the jewel of the Rumari empire where the greatest rumarians came to study magic. Once the rebellion started many fled to Ametar for protection, however it could not protect them from the fury of the rebels and Ametar was reduced to ruins.
After the rebellion Ametar was left to be forgotten as none wanted to place their eyes upon the monument showing their oppressors power.
And so the once great academy was left dormant for hundreds of years.
That was until the reign of the undying king and his witch hunters forced magicians not sworn to the king into hiding. Some magicians like Alyra crest and her sister Eranyl crest, fled north and settled in the ruins of Ametar. These ruins became the base for the Ametar rebellion.
When the war was over and the rebellion won the ruins of Ametar was built up into the academy of Ametar.
However shortly after the Ametar ruins were rebuilt a snowstorm raged trough the lands near Ametar and shook the building forcing many mages to flee the building.once they returned the academy was fine, however the mages who chose to stay in Ametar that night had all disappeared. thus giving the academy the reputation of being cursed and haunted.
After being rebuilt the Ametar academy got built out as to create more space for the many people who saw an opportunity in Ametar. It did not take long until it became a town.
Points of interest
The center of town is called the old town as it is what remains of the original Idnisfall.

People who travel here are mostly mages in training also called fledglings or neopythes. Traders and Historians also frequently travel to this place. most travelers can expect to stay at one of the few inns there and unless they have a summons from someone of the order they can only dream of getting into the fortress.
