Favored

The term for those blessed by the gods, in order to augment their fate.

Causes

No one is really quite sure why the gods choose someone to be Favored. Blessings are minimal and passive, though clear to those looking for them, but not enough to change one's path. The current forerunning theory is that a person who is Favored already has an important fate ahead of them, and the gods want to watch it happen enough to send small aids.

Symptoms

Those who are Favored receive small omens from the god who's chosen them, and find themselves stronger in areas under that god's domain. They may not know of this blessing at first.

Affected Groups

Any being on Sacros may be Favored, though the most common selections are heroes.

History

Heroes of Sacros have always been described as special, and we can only assume the gods have blessed their subjects throughout history. It is not common, only a handful of chosen ones in a generation.
