Sorcery

A rare form of magic, frowned upon by the Virtuous and the learned. Sorcery is a distinctly elven magic form, and is said to channel the Allmother herself.

Utility

Sorcery is used for healing, medicine, elemental spells, and emotional manipulation. The most common form of sorcery in modern times is found in the form of potions and salves, for varying purposes, made by hand by the magic wielder.

Access & Availability

Sorcery is rare, its users spread far and wide. It is unique in that it is the only form of magic shown to be passed down genetically. Crusades through the 14th century erased many sorcerous bloodlines, and persecution has kept the remaining from teaching it outside their own heirs.

Complexity

Most sorcery spells and recipes require components. Modern sorcerers often live in a place with endemic plants with magical properties, though black markets for ingredients also proliferate.
