The Expansion War
The Conflict
Prelude
Before conflict broke out human expansion had gone unchecked for generations. With each passing year humanity was growing with settlements appearing as civilization grew. It was one of these settlements that drew the ire of the Akash nation of elves, as the pilgrims had toppled a tree more than two thousand years old to build exceedingly close to elf hunting grounds. The elves tried to remove these settlers but were forced back by soldiers who were protecting the humans. Angered small skirmishs broke out between man and elf till eventually a company of soldiers was dispatched to put down any would be military action by the elves. Desperate for aid the Akash reached out to other elven nations who expressed similar troubles or worries. The elves in turn reached out to the dwarves who were suffering from human mining and expansion into and close to their communities and together the disparate nations formed the Alliance of Breeds, together with the halflings and some of the cambrian the Alliance of Breeds struck back at invasive human settlements.
The Conflict
Battles were held across the country of Gedic as the Alliance of Breeds struck the human settlements that were the worst offenders. The humans were greater in number and better organized but they were not prepared for a war fought on almost a dozen different fronts. As the human villages were razed and settlers forced back to the larger towns and cities the Allied forces began their second stage, removing the ports and communities that supported human expansion. With fewer targets and more actionable intelligence human soldiers began to turn the tides of the war. The greatest blow to the Alliance was the loss of the halfling spies, before halflings publicly joined humanity and civilization while in truth spying for the Alliance of Breeds. When this secret was uncovered humanity captured a great number of halfling non-combatants that still lived within human cities partially out of fear of spying but mostly to insure the obedience of the halflings from that point. With the halfling providing false or misleading information humanity began to gain more ground and win more battles.Outcome
