The Soul, Life, and Undeath

Created by the God's to grow, mature, and enrich the world the soul is given flesh so it may experience life. The Soul is made of three parts: the Animus, the Anima, and the Divine Spark.   The Animus is the identity of the soul, it's emotions and memories. From the Animus the soul is given character and as it grows the animus shapes the person through how they feel. The Anima is the life of the soul, the vitality and spirit of the individual. From the Anima the soul is given drive and willpower developing to form the individuals strength mentally and spiritually. The divine spark is made small portion of the sparks granted from their own parents, two part to make one whole. This spark that powers the soul and is the source of the creativity and complexity an person is derived from, it is also the depth of one's ability to wield magic be it divine or arcane.   Once a mortal body dies the soul separates into the three pieces that is was made up of, the Animus travelling to the afterlife of the mortal, the anima returning to the world to become a part of the fabric of life, and the divine spark returning to the Gods empowering them and affecting them even if it is a small change.   There have been cases where a soul is damaged or something has gone wrong and the soul does not pass on as it should. In the case of the anima being damaged or removed a living person will become listless and lose their drive to do much of anything. Once they die their soul my become a ghost if the animus is strong enough, their memories remain but their divine spark is snuffed out in the creation of the undead. Should an animus be destroyed or taken the individual will become feral, their personality replaced with the primal state from which unintelligent animals act. Should the person die with too little or no animus their body will become undead be it zombie, ghoul, or worse as their divine spark expires in the creation of the abomination. Finally a soul without a divine spark cannot exist as the spark itself is what powers the soul. Without the divine spark the animus and anima do not interact at all; the only that is left is an intelligent undead, it thinks but it does not have the feelings a living creature does.
