Skyships

The skyships range from smaller vessels to far grander ships with much higher populations. Exceptionally small Groundless ships may land, but most Groundless ships stay permanently in the air and send parties of Groundless to the surface to scavenge and trade with networks of Groundless living in human settlements. The given course of a skyship is debated by Elders and then plotted by specially trained navigators, who ensure the safety of those on-board and avoid dangerous weather.   For Groundless who live in skyships, the skyship contains every normal amenity expected of a settlement. Because of this, Groundless do not require to leave their homes in order to travel. They are by definition always travelling somewhere. If a Groundless desires to travel to a different destination than that decided by the Council of Elders and Navigators, they must make separate arrangements. Most Groundless are perfectly content to avoid the surface, knowing full well that any Groundless living openly amongst humans are at constant risk of bigotry and derision. It is generally accepted that whilst the skyships have their limitations, their main benefit is that Groundless are free to live openly without fear of persecution. Skyships make it possible to stay out of sight and engage with human settlements on their own terms.

Power Generation

These vehicles operate on a mixture of solar technology and magic, and require constant maintenance and upkeep. Because of this, Groundless with magical or technological capabilities are always in demand and may easily make a living travelling between different skyships.

Additional & auxiliary systems

They are equipped with advanced Groundless magic, which enables them to remain unseen.
Rarity
Skyships are common among the Groundless, but not found among human populations at all. When taken away from the Groundless, the vessels become seemingly unable to leave the ground.
Speed
They can safely travel higher than commercial flights, at similar speeds.
Complement / Crew
A Groundless skyship requires at least one navigator and one engineer, though the bigger the vessel the more of each will be required.
