"The worst part about being new to everything is that it takes forever to get that sense of nostalgia. Like, come on!"A holy soldier construct that somehow got implanted with a soul. Originally just a mass-produced homunculus made to command other artificial angels, her duty was to protect a delusional zealot as he tried to ascend into a higher being by absorbing the souls of others. After fighting two heroes determined to stop her master, she was accidentally flung through a torrent of souls before crashing down to the earth below. Upon awakening, she looked at her reflection in a nearby lake and experienced something she quite literally couldn't dream of before: self-awareness. The collision with the soul torrent managed to implant one into her shell of a body! Bombarded with the beauty of the world and the sense of being alive for the first time, the angel quickly grew curious about all the knowledge she was programmed with but never truly experienced. Now an ally of the very same heroes who accidentally gave her the gift of life, she flies across the world to learn something new every day. Curious, excitable, and rather immature, Ryza hopes to emulate her heroes and become another ray of hope for everyone someday. But first, she has to learn how.

General Physical Condition
Sports an average, lithe build with great agility, ungodly strength, and endurance that betrays her waifish appearance.

Wide, golden eyes.
Identifying Characteristics
A golden halo and a large set of white, feathery wings on her back. A small magic circle is tattooed between the two wings, allowing her to hide them or project them as a smaller, unattached set that looks more like a fragmented light projection (though naturally, she is unable to fly with this on). This also seems to apply to her halo's light too, presumably to let herself hide in darkness or to let her sleep without a distracting night light.
Special abilities
Aside from being capable of high-speed flight and being exceptionally tough to kill, Ryza has proven herself to be a destructive force for all that catch her ire.
- Alpenglow: Ryza is capable of using light and dark energy in tandem, allowing her to unleash destructive waves of both types. While she is inherently more attuned to light, her mentors taught her how to manipulate darkness to satisfy her curiosity. Named for the light she saw on her second day of living as she flew across the mountains.
- Refractile Wave: Ryza draws a triangle in front of her. The shape then acts as both a shield and a cannon, absorbing projectiles before unleashing a beam of light back at the target.
- Heaven Scar: Ryza slashes at the air or a target in front of her, ripping a dark gash into space itself. All caught in the reality-bending tear are sucked in and feel the pain of being torn apart for the short period that it lasts. Capable of actually tearing people apart if they're weak enough. A technique she learned from Mifune.
- Falcon Blade: Ryza envelops her wings in blue light and conjures five large swords that point outwards from her shield. As her wings take on a larger size, the swords form a drill as she charges forward at her opponent until she either plows through them or crushes them against a wall. A technique she learned from Sofia.
- Godslaying Horizon: A destructive move based on Heaven Scar in which Ryza slashes multiple times outward, creating a singularity that sucks in whatever she deems to be a target. She then flies in and slashes at the sphere, causing it to split and erupt into a violent pillar of light and dark energy. The aftermath creates the illusion of a perfectly split sky, dividing day and night with a single, distant line.
Apparel & Accessories
Ryza is usually seen wearing a white dress that goes down to her knees and long white gloves adorned with gold plating at the edges. Her casual wardrobe is rather mundane, consisting of various blouses, dresses, or T-shirts, with the main accessory being a pair of headphones for music.
Specialized Equipment
- Seraphic Armor: A set of blessed armor made from what vestiges remained from the old one that enhances her already high survivability. Though it no longer has a helmet, Ryza has fashioned a visor that provides the same effect via magic shielding.
- Celestalica, The Azure Flash in the Black Abyss/Dioclarion, Black Tear of the Holy Sphere: A blessed sword capable of attuning to both light and dark magic, swapping between focused "modes" depending on what the wielder is currently casting. Each form swap is indicated by the blade's aura color changing. Though slightly larger than the average blade and much heavier than it looks, Ryza is capable of wielding it with one hand. Both forms were named entirely by herself!
- Gaia's Heir: A shield that Ryza always brings into battle. Though comparatively less flashy than her sword, its defensive power is still second to none. Often used as a battering ram.

Personal history
A holy soldier construct that somehow got implanted with a soul. Originally just a mass-produced homunculus made to command other artificial angels, her duty was to protect a delusional zealot as he tried to ascend into a higher being by absorbing the souls of others. With divine might, his army threatened the skies with a torrent of lost souls from atop a floating stronghold until he was eventually stopped by two heroes, Mifune and Sofia. Their job was far from clean, however; as they singlehandedly destroyed the stronghold and army, the final angel was blasted through the soul torrent before crashing down to the land below. Worried about what might happen if it survived, the two heroes returned the lost souls to the afterlife and immediately went down to its landing site: a town fittingly named Angel's Descent.
When they arrived at the crash site, they found a blue-haired woman with large, white wings kneeling before a lake, her armor utterly shattered next to her. Though lightly bruised and burnt from the high-speed fall, she was no worse for wear and even had a white dress that they could only assume she created with magic. Upon noticing that the impact through the torrent implanted a soul into the angel's body and she achieved a sense of consciousness, Mifune and Sofia decided to befriend the young woman and act as mentors to sate her now-endless curiosity, christening the name "Ryza Lazuli" for her.
Now emulating her heroes as a Radiant Champion, she reflects her newfound heritage as an angel of both light and dark, capable of utilizing both magic types as she pleases on her journey to learn about the world.
When asked about whether she was ever curious to learn about her soul prior to becoming the angel she is now, she always displays apathy to the question. Oh well, no reason to dig it up anyway, I suppose.
"No, I dunno who this soul belonged to before merging with me. But I don't have any past life stories or anything, so I guess it was a fresh slate. I don't think such a question really matters anymore. I'm just me."
Gender Identity
Ryza doesn't particularly understand gender and finds cultures that place a heavy emphasis on gender roles to be exhausting. Though she identifies as a woman due to her body, she doesn't really care about the rare occasions she's mistaken for a feminine-looking man and rolls with the mistake.
Intellectual Characteristics
Ryza acts much like a child who read a massive encyclopedia collection but never saw anything it taught them in person. Her curiosity is boundless, and though she may ask a lot of questions both benign or otherwise, she is a very fast learner and can memorize more concepts than she lets on.
Morality & Philosophy
Having been taught by two legendary heroes, Ryza has adopted much of their morals for herself. If people need help, help them! Always be kind to your fellow neighbors! Greet evil with a grand ol' smile! And most importantly, if an evil god needs murdering, reduce them to atoms!
