A Dark Elf named Arsinia is designated as a living god, but tragedy causes her to reshape the land.

A young Dark Elf named Arsinia attempts to restore peaceful relations between the elvish nations by creating false miracles in the name of their gods. Hoping that flashy displays of magic will cause others to believe she was blessed for her actions, Arsinia's goal is to use selenite to overload her magical abilities so that the other elves see it as a sign that the gods themselves want things to go back to normal as well.   Unfortunately, things go horribly right. Arsinia is successful in overloading her magic potency, but this also gave her magic that would qualify her for an actual desert god. She attempts to pass off her "blessing" as she planned, but nobody buys it, accusing her of being a heretic that insults the gods themselves. Her attempts to appeal to other elvish nations outside of Dokkalfheim only meet her with similar attitudes, resulting in all elvish kingdoms trying to capture her without uniting under a common goal. Knowing she cannot return, Arsinia tries to flee to the Ophican land bridge, where she thinks nobody will find her, but much to her surprise is met with soldiers from all three elvish nations. In one final act of desperation she lets her powers run wild at the land bridge, causing the Twilight Desert to spread across Dokkalfheim, overriding the jungles and forests in its wake.   Before dying due to fatigue along with the heat wave she brought upon herself and the rest of the land, Deirdre, one of the main elvish goddesses, personally descends to Arsinia, offering her one gift of mercy for her good intentions. She then brings Arsinia to the spiritual realm, deeming her the guardian of the desert she created. While the elvish nations refused to acknowledge Arsinia's existence while alive and still hold high amounts of tension and animosity toward each other, they now have a new god to pray to.
