Bellphast's Counterattack

The Atlantean Zealots become enraged upon discovering Niflheim's genetic editor and summon an eldritch beast to destroy its capital, Noctilucent. The plan is thwarted in time and a fort is built over Bellphast's corpse.

Years after the genetic editor is developed, the Atlantean Zealots are notified of its existence. Angered, the Zealots create a massive summoning circle using multiple large selenite crystals as catalysts. The summoning creates another whirlpool in the area guarded by the Lunar Alliance, drawing their attention...   When the ritual completes, a 1,000 foot eldritch serpent known as Bellphast jets out of the whirlpool and immediately strikes at the guarding airships before attempting to fly to Noctilucent. A lone soldier is able to leap off his ship and onto the monster before it flies away and attempts to use the weapons on hand to kill it before it succeeds in destroying Niflheim's capital.   While the soldier is unable to kill it, he is able to cut out a hole in its head and attack Bellphast's brain directly (along with the body's parasites and other defense mechanisms). While the monster is still able to strike at the capital enough to damage the machine, the brain damage sustained causes it to switch course to Serpent's Crag. There, the soldier and his crew planned to lead it to Valnero, the area's residing monster, which would finish it off. The plan thankfully succeeds, with whatever remains of Bellphast's corpse being thrown into the crag. The humans then decide to build a fort over the deceased monster.
