"Hey Kallista," Rowan found her friend sitting on her trunk lying at the foot of the bed and sat next to her. "I brought Esquire," she held him out in an open hand in front of Kallista.

"Thanks, Rowan," she gently lifted the hedgehog, coddled him in both her hands, and tried to smile. "But I wish he could do more than comfort--I wish he could fix it."
"I'm afraid magic can't do that. Fix past events--emotional, irrational, mental bullies. Believe me, I've desired it more than most people are aware," she paused, tilting her head. "But fix what exactly? Is it to do with Dr. Puttering again?"
"Just--look, it's not the right time. Thank you so much for Esquire, but I--I need to go now and do some practice for our weather magic class and my Spring class tomorrow. Here."
