Vestalith

Vestalith's are grand pillars of light, shooting out of the esssence filled earth of Sakenia, and they are the lifeblood of the world as we know it. Their grand and obelisk-like presence adorn the Sakenian skys as they originate from the earth and rise infinitely above.
Some legends say that the "All Mother" gave her life to protect Sakenia, and the essence in her veins poored out into the world and manifested as the light pillars as they stand today.
Many scholars have studied the structures for ages, religions, armies and societies have been founded with the Vestaliths as their origin. Throughout Sakenia twelve Vestaliths are scattered and seem to be placed randomly as they each cover a vast landmass. The source of their power isn't exactly understood, but it is said that the magnificent monoliths are all connected by sub-surface "canals" made from the same essence, in which they pour out into the world.
Most of the Vethari population around Sakenia are settled at a Vestalith, as they provide protection against the dangerous and volatile nature that the world is made up off.
