Angeline spotted it again watching us with cold malevolence from the safety of one the strange deep pools that riddle the island. Could it be the same one that attacked us before? Could it be stalking us, using the pools to follow us far from its usual hunting ground? My skin crawls at the thought.

Noctopi take full advantage of the system of underwater caves that riddle the island in order to hunt. Following these underwater passageways, they surface in pools on the island and lurk therein to seize passing prey. A careful observer will note that it possesses a  uncanny and unsettling ability to calculate -- for an animal.
