The Rivers Mouth

While in English, the "mouth of the river" is where it flows out into the sea, in this case, to the Nornians, "the River Mouth" is a large cenote (a natural sinkhole, caused by the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath) in the center of the island. The Rivers Mouth is so named because it swallows the waters of Sakiel Norn and because it "sings," or "prays," as the wind blows over it, making a solemn, melodic call that can be heard throughout the jungle valley on windy days.
