Haššiw Šam Šumkal Zetyq

Haššiw Šam Šumkal Zetyq [haʃiw ʃam ʃuŋkal zetɯq] 'Black and White Sky Trader's Guild' is a Zeribian trade organisation, that is run by a prominent noble family, Šamper. The organisation is also a popular cult of Haššiw.

Haššiw Šam has become one of the most influential Zeribian trade organisations, partially because they run a popular cult of Haššiw, the god of commerce, in Toad Cape. This means that many independet traders, seeking the gods protection from dangers on the sea, are making donations to the company.
Haššiw Šam is mostly specialising in trading goods that are produced by other branches owned or associated with the House Šamper. However the guild's success has attracted many independent traders and producers to join.

Culture

Šamper is a fairly traditionalist Zeribian house, believing in the family honor and order. Thus the company also values the good and reliably quality of product, that bring honour to the family. They believe in strict organisation, where everyone gets just behaviour according to what their position in the guild is. They despice piracy (practised by many other houses) and counterfeit products, but are not against tax evasion.

History

The organisation is based on Toad Cape and is especially influential on late 700s in Der Fem. The success of the trade company eventually lead to the family taking the crown of the newly found Zeribian kingdom after the Zeribian Revolution of Der Fem, when Ûšum Biz Xefkam Šamper Nezen (king) became the first king.
After the coronation the leadership of the trade company was transferred to subsidiary houses, but the backing of the company was still crucial to Šamper.

Foreign Relations

The influential Zeribian trade organisations are seen as a theat by the government of the Republic of Free West Island. However, they are supporting traditionalist houses, including Šamper, because they are keeping the growing Zeribian population under control.

Zeribian guilds are organisations, that offer financial security to commoners encaging in trade or handicrafts. The guilds are usually lead by nobles, that serve as the guild's principal funders and political representatives.
The members must pay a regular membership fee, and in return they financial support in case of accidents, and access to partnership with other guild members. The benefits include discounts in other guild-owned businesses and benefits such as funeral services.
