Kuh feathers

Kuh feathers are harvested from a rare beast living on the Eastern Islands that is associated with the war god Kuh. They are used as a decoration by the Easterlings and the Natives of the Eastern Islands.

The Kuh feathers are extreemely valuable. They can only be obtained by slaying The Beast, because they will be ruined fast if shed on the jungle floor. The Beast is the most dangerous animal known to the Easterlings and a known man-eater, so killing it requieres the aspiring leader to collaborate with all of his most skillfull warriors.

History & Usage

History

Obtaining the feathers by ritually slaying The Beast used to be a major way for the ancient kings to prove their might. Notably the feathers were used in the first crown of Der Fem worn by for example King Ûzeŋadise-bargvel Šiwke Gvelzuh.
Nowadays The Easterlings have mostly started using precious metals and jewels as their primary form of decorating their bodies, but feathers are still most precious item for many native tribes.
