Outer Heavens
The Outer Heavens are a region of emptiness, surrounding Salan (world), Waumin (Underworld), and the Heavens inhabited by the gods. It's the realm of chaos and disorder, and home to Wild Spirits that threat to disrupt the order of the world.
The gods strive to protect the world from the influence of the wild spirits, and drive them back to the outer heavens. However, some have managed to sneak their way onto Salan and they live in the wilderness causing chaos.
Geography
Unlike the Mortal Lands that are filled with air, and the Underworld which is filled with water, the Outer Heavens are believed to be completely devoid of matter. It might be that the consept of space and location doesn't even make sense this realm. Some myths describe wells in the Heavens, deep holes in the fabric of the world, that connect the world to the Outer Heavens, and allow pasage between the realms.Localised phenomena
The Outer Heavens are believed to remain in the state of primal chaos, that existed before the gods created order in the universe. Some say that it means a state of nothingness, while some believe that spontaneous creation takes place there, and spirits and matter come in and out of existence continuously. Either way, the place is surely compeletely hostile to mortals.Inhabitants
The Outer Heavens are inhabited by Wild Spirits, creatures that oppose gods' creation and the order they have created. They are believed to prey on the souls of mortals, to gain a peace of the power that the main gods have put into their creation. The gods strive to protect the world from the influence of the wild spirits, and drive them back to the outer heavens. However, some have managed to sneak their way onto Salan and they live in the wilderness causing chaos.
Very different having a wild spiritual realm for this prompt. Very interesting concept structure with the wild spirits.
Thanks! :) I've written about so many of my main regions already so I had to think a bit outside the box!
