Palace of Naralte
The palace of the Heavenly Lord, the Sun God Naralte, is the center point of the Heavens in the Faren cosmology. It is a refuge to tired spirits, and the home to all of the heavenly gods (as opposed to the gods of the Underworld. See also: Faren pantheon).
The Palace is located in the high heavens, wrapped in clouds to conceal it from the mortal eyes. Naralte's bright light wards the palace and it's surroundings, preventing the Wild Spirits of the Outer Heavens from entering. However, they still lurk in the deep shadows of the garden, where even the eyes of the gods can't reach. Mortals are prohibited from entering the palace, apart from few great Heros that had gained the blessing of the gods (such as Ásinnár to fetch the Herb of Rebirth, see: The Giant and the Rainbow Snake)
During the day Naralte sits in his court, governing the mortal realms. The Gods and even great mortal heroes can bring matters to his attention to seek judgement from him and the other supreme deities. Dining hall
Every evening Naralte hosts a banquet to all of the heavenly gods. Leitandár the Winemaker pours them drinks, and the night is filled with singing, dancing and laughter. Sometimes the lights of the heavenly banquet can be seen on mortal realms as strange lights on the night sky. Gardens
The palace is surrounded by the Garden of the Heavenly Lord. The garden houses all the plants, domesticated and wild, that have ever existed. It is tended by Narusein the Rainbow, god of plantlife and the gardener of the Heavenly Lord. The gardens are a restingplace to all the gods. It is thought that of the mortals only the birds can reasch the gardens, and thus bring messages to the gods.
Description
The palace is also named the Gemstone Castle, built from heavenly stone that shines in all the colours of the rainbow, reflecting the light of Naralte that filles all of the rooms and hallways. The air is heavy with the smell of all the exotic flowers growing in the gardens surrounding it. The walls are decorated with tapestries recording all the history of Salan.Rooms
