Karathe
Karathe is the capital of Saltha, and the most populated city in the nation. It is located in the central region of the Republic of Saltha. Its water supply comes from the Kakelshgisashe (Rock River).

Government
Senate council, elected every 5 years. This council acts both as the lawmakers as well as the judiciary who oversees trials and disputes.

The town is surrounded by large limestone walls, built to keep out enemy clans during the time of war that was during the divided the city-state period.
Industry & Trade
Karathe, being in the center of the country has been a major trading hub for thousands of years. They deal in fish brought in from the Western coast, precious stones mined from the wastes, and herbs and spices from the south among other things.
Guilds and Factions
The water guild and land guild are two of the most powerful factions. The former regulates the use of water. The law forbids showing favoritism, but change the quote all citizens may get, such as in time fo drought. The land guild regulates the buying and selling of land, and it's used. The land is scarce, much less variable land.
History
Built sometime around 6000 KG as a city for the Kesnai family. After the country unified In the reign of King Laila, in 217 KG it became the capital city.
Architecture
The buildings of Karathe, like many of the buildings in Saltha are made from hewn sandstone. Salthan architecture favors more blocky, utilitarian design in terms of shape, though often employing carved patterns as decoration into the blocks.
Geography
One of the largest features of the city is the basin lake, located near the Eastern side of the city. It is fed from the Kakelsashe river, which flows from a mountain to the south. It is situated in a lowland that dips down and is surrounded by grass and reeds.
Natural Resources
Water is the most important, but they also raise animals for meat or hunt them in the wild. They also grow gilese (sweet tubers).
