Caravans of Chaos: Plot Hook
Many aspire to be adventurers, journeying across the vast and unpredictable landscape, slaying monsters both formidable and sly, making lifelong friends and diabolical enemies.
You, however, are a party of life-valuing intellectuals, aspiring to strike rich as merchants in the Oda Empire’s capital city of Mizure.
What, however, will you offer that no merchant in Mizure already does? Why, only the rarest of magical artifacts and weapons, once hidden in dungeons and lairs throughout Samarya, now instantly attainable to anyone with the gold on hand.
In reality, the life of an adventurer and a merchant aren’t as different as one might think. You will need to strengthen yourselves to protect your caravan, befriend local communities to aid you in your travels, gain some startup cash, and avoid setting off any apocalyptic chains of events that place you and your friends as the only forces standing against certain destruction!
This campaign will start with a quest for an item that will significantly help in your chosen line of business. Then the party will then decide where to go in order to kick off their business, though plenty of NPCs with helpful hints will be around to help choose a course of action. You can buy other items in large stock to trade at other cities for a quick buck, or fulfill local quests to earn larger sums of money. Naturally, you’ll run into plenty of shenanigans wherever you go.
This campaign will have a large emphasis on roleplaying, exploration in a variety of natural environments, short-rest centered combat, as well as uncovering world lore, hence my $37 subscription to this service.
