It was through Avandra's grace that when we first made contact, our recipients spoke Draconic. There are slight differences in words and phrases, but it was more than enough to establish our honest intentions and good will. Their species groups (elf, dwarf, gnome) have their own tongues, though they bear little similarity to their counterparts in Samarya. A common tongue is shared among all species, as is in Samarya. Their common tongue is quite derivative of Draconic, and took little time for our Draconic speakers to learn.
The Venkijans are not unlike us in appearance, but far different in culture. They are austere, and deeply religious, devoting their lives to the Almighty Bahamut. Reverence of other gods appears absent.
It took us some time to earn their trust, especially our casters. Casters are few and far between here, and ours' innate use of magic was initially met with suspicion and fear. Those in touch with the arcane do so through religious relics, which they claim to be remnants of dragon skeletons. I would bring one to Sooryapesh to analyze, but alas, I could never ask the Venkijans to part with such sacred artifacts.
