Conrad's Lance
Conrad's Lance was the weapon that Conrad I used in the Reconquest to drive back the Empty and the Accursed Ones.
The Creator, speaking at the divine anointing of Conrad as the Creator's Champion, promised that "your lance shall be my justice. It shall burn with the purifying fire of my realm. Their souls have known the anguish of this fire. Now you shall drive it into their hearts."
Following the failed Campaign Beyond the Wall, the lance was lost - shattering the Allied Armies, forcing Conrad into effective military retirement, and marking the end of the Reconquest - leaving a whole sub-continent still under the sway of the Accursed Ones.
History
Before the wedding, there is no particular record of one lance Conrad used - it is assumed that he used one of the lances taken beyond Guthrum's Gate by his father, or by the royal guard. The Weldic lances of the period were long spears, with a flat head shaped like an elongated lozenge and sharpened on the upper two edges. Given the irregular terrain and warfare of the years of Exile, it is not likely that Conrad had used the lance regularly in anger (axes and swords were more common) - however, there is evidence that all patriotic Welds practiced mock cavalry charges, hoping for the day they would reclaim their plains.
Following the Creator's promise, neither the Allied Armies, nor Conrad himself truly knew what the effect of the blessing would be. However, obedient to the Creator's command, Conrad bore the lance out of the gate at the Third Battle of Guthrum's Gate. Those in his Close Guard reported that, as soon as they had charged a bow's shot from the wall (the horde had learned over long years where they could besiege the wall without being struck) "the lance burst into brilliant flame."
Conrad himself is recorded as saying he witnessed "Empty I had not struck dissolving around the ones I had - who themselves burst into the same flame as the lance. I was a mere vessel for the Creator - when I plunged the lance forward, the Creator's justice struck an area beyond the reach of the blade. The Creator knew when I used the spear for battle, and when on the march. The fire burned just before the charge arrived at the enemy's ranks, and extinguished as the final creature perished."

The spear was said to be "pure gold with the strength of Tetran Steel." Conrad's sword - not his lance - was blessed directly by The Creator at the wedding. It is possible that his lance was separately transfigured without mention in the records, but this was a time when almost every movement that Conrad made was recorded by some Sanctor or other - lovingly preserved in the archives at Calthor.
More likely, following the divine anointing, as a symbol of their fealty to the Allied Armies, Tetran smiths girded precious metals on the sides of the blade and likely (following the Tetran practice) a sheath of Tetran steel was fixed over the join between the blade and the shaft.
