Jason Carter (a.k.a. Apollo)

Jason Carter grew up in the quiet suburbs of Crestwood, a small town outside of San Diablo that thrived on its family-friendly atmosphere but hid a darker undercurrent of crime and corruption. From an early age, Jason had an affinity for archery, a skill he honed at his father's side. His father, a former Olympic archer, instilled in Jason the discipline of focus and precision.   Tragically, when Jason was ten, his father was killed in a home invasion, a loss that shattered Jason’s world and instilled in him a deep-seated anger towards the lawlessness that he believed took his father away.
Seeking solace and vengeance, he became more dedicated to archery, finding comfort in the routine and discipline of the sport.
His mother meanwhile devoted all her time to her work, moving her and Jason to San Diablo, where she is a defense attorney, a job she puts all her time into.
Motivated by a desire for justice and protection, Jason took on the vigilante name “Apollo,” inspired by the Greek deity known for his accuracy. While he initially sought vengeance against the criminals in his town, as he matured, his focus shifted to protecting the innocent and restoring peace. He aspires to become a full-time hero, not just combating crime but also inspiring others to stand up for what is right.

Physical quirks

He has a habit of twirling a pencil or pen whenever he’s deep in thought. Additionally, when nervous, he tends to fidget with the string on his bow, a behavior that concentrates his anxiety into motion.
He occasionally stutters when under pressure, especially if he is required to speak in front of a group.

Apparel & Accessories

His superhero costume consists of a sleek dark black suit with a black hood and red accents that mirror the sun’s rays, reflecting his alias. He wears sturdy combat boots for agility and pockets for carrying arrows. 
In his civilian life, he dresses casually—graphic tees, hoodies, and jeans, often accessorized with a woven bracelet he made himself as a reminder of his childhood.

Jason’s bow, known as the “Celestial Bow,” is custom-built to enhance his accuracy, crafted with lightweight alloys for maneuverability. He also employs specialized arrows, such as smoke arrows for quick escapes or flash arrows that temporarily disorient his foes.

Additionally, he has saved several lives during his superhero missions, including thwarting a bank robbery with his quick reflexes and accuracy.

Jason feels deeply the weight of failure whenever a mission doesn’t go as planned, particularly one where a civilian was harmed despite his attempts to intervene. The guilt of not being able to save everyone haunts him, leading him to question his worthiness as a hero.
