Elena Voltaire is the notorious leader of the criminal syndicate known as The Black Order. She rose to power through a combination of ruthless tactics and her uncanny ability to manipulate others. What sets her apart from other super-criminals is her unwavering religious fanaticism, as she is a devout worshiper of an ancient deity known as The Void.
Elena has taken up residence in the opulent penthouse of the San Diablo's Grand Tower. From there, she orchestrates her nefarious plots, mainly centered around blackmailing and manipulating the city's financial leaders to advance her own agenda. She operates from this location because it allows her to maintain a close eye on the city's power players and exploit their weaknesses for her own gain.
Elena's most distinctive feature is her dependency on a rare and powerful medication that keeps her powers in check. Without it, she becomes prone to unpredictable and devastating outbursts of magical energy. This dependency is evident in her constantly carrying a vial of the medication and taking meticulous care in ensuring its availability.
Behind Elena's facade of grand schemes and criminal mastery lies a dark secret. She seeks to use the magical artifact she possesses, known as The Orb of Shadows, to unleash chaos and destruction upon the world. In her twisted religious fervor, she believes that only through causing widespread suffering can her deity be pleased and grant her ultimate power.

Personal history

Elena was born the only child of Richard and Ellen Voltaire, and was given everything as she grew up.  Her father a powerful mob boss, Elena was given the best education, and she took advantage of it.
Studying the ancient arts, she became fascinated by The Void, a dark deity that was said to bring chaos to the world.  She travelled the world looking for anything that would connect her to The Void, and discovered the Orb of Shadows.  Once she had the Orb, she was granted mental powers and became a channel for The Void.
