Personal history
A humble birth to two peasant parents, Archibald spent most of his early life scraping pigshit out of a pen. His only respite and comfort to this hard life was the company of his (not related) "Brother" Jusmano. Jusmano and Archibald grew tired of the meager existence of a peasant so they set out to do the only thing that can raise your status in the City-State, the Trial. The opportunity came around once a year and the boys had just became of age. They were herded into groups by guild representatives and given meager arms, this was a surprise to the boys as the goal was to bring an item of significant worth, not to cave a skull in.
After an eventful encounter in the caves the new recruits, or rather, the survivors, were paraded through the city. After being shown someone taking the "Long Walk" he was sure to keep his mouth shut from the gruesome secret that was revealed during the trial.
Shortly afterwards, he was separated from his brother and sent to the Academy to learn engineering for Dragonships. 2 years later he was sent to serve on the Reigning Virtue and did such for 8 years.
On the last day of his eighth year however...
