Hippopominous
In the deep rivers of the underground there lurks a most dangerous creature indeed, the Hippopominous. They are immense, often more than fourteen feet in length, and broad as a boat. Their mouths open with devastating promise. Teeth forged in shadow and stone can crush and rend apart many boats and what it does to humanoid flesh is hard to repeat in polite company.
For as large as these creatures are, they are deadly silent. They are able to move through the water without a sound, floating with only their eyes and nostrils above the surface they are virtually invisible to those outside of the water. But what truly makes these creatures beings of nightmares are the shadows that emanate from them, tendrils are darkness that creep along the surface of the water or ground to lash out at those who come near them. (Mechanically functions similar to the Spirit Guardians spell)
The tusks of these creatures are made from valuable and high quality ivory.
