Marbleborn
The depths are not merely stone and passageways, some places have rich deposits of marble. Quarries were once built to collect and profit from these elegant stone treasuries. But the marble was not just an inert resource ripe for the gathering. In the whorls and patterns of colors in the otherwise gleaming white stone, there were beings. In the way that some can be born of air, water, and fire, the people here are born of earth. Born of Marble.
Their home has been quarried, collected, and sold off throughout the deep dark for a hefty profit. Now the Marbleborn are nomads in the Unders. Fearful that the surface folk will return to complete the job, to collect the last reserves of priceless marble. Their very selves.
If spotted, they are easily recognized. They look as though statues, with polished white marble contrasting against dark veins and patterns of color. When they are still, they do not breathe and could easily pass for decoration rather than people. Even their clothing and possessions are built from the same stuff. They would rarely share such prizes, but a dress of flowing marble is one of the rarest and most incredible sights of fashion you may ever witness.
These subterranean humanoids are reflavored Earth Genasi and will become available for play and character creation once encountered in the Unders.
