Mooshroom
Though strange in appearance, the Mooshroom (as most people call it) is a staple of underground agriculture. Originally created through mystical hybridization of local fungi with surface cows, the Mooshroom is now a true-breeding organism... and not a cow at all. Merely cow-shaped. They are the product of the Bloomshepherds, and their ceaseless wandering of the Undergrond.
Mooshrooms are bred in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, each sprouting mushrooms of a different kind. These mushrooms can be collected harmlessly, making them a mobile, renewable source of fungal matter. The crimson spores they scatter when threatened are used in making dyes, and they can be milked for a greenish draught known as Sporemilk. It tastes bitter, but has a satisfying, calming effect when consumed.
